Privacy
This page explains what Mapcited (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We try to collect as little as possible, and we have written this page in plain language so you can see exactly what happens to your details.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Mapcited decides why and how the details you send through this site are used, which makes us the party responsible for them. You can reach us at any time by replying to any email from us.
2. What we collect
When you request a demo, we collect:
- your first name;
- your email address;
- your website address or Google Maps link;
- the service you are interested in.
That is everything the form asks for, and you choose what to enter. We do not ask for payment details, passwords or government-issued ID numbers on this site, and you should not include them in the form.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic connection data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so that the site can be delivered and protected from abuse. We do not use this to identify you personally.
3. Why we collect it and on what basis
We use your details only to:
- reply to your request;
- prepare and deliver the demo you asked for;
- follow up with you about that demo and, if you choose to proceed, your service;
- keep a record of the request so it is not lost or answered twice.
We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the form, and on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We do not use your details for anything unrelated, and we do not add you to a newsletter or mailing list without asking you first.
4. Who handles your data
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. Each one handles data only for that purpose:
- Resend delivers the contents of your request to us by email.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and processes standard connection data to serve pages and guard against abuse.
- Google provides the embedded map on some pages. Loading it connects your browser to Google, which applies its own privacy policy.
- A private spreadsheet we control may hold a copy of your request so we can track it.
We do not sell your data, we do not rent it out, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose it if the law requires us to or to protect our legal rights.
5. International transfers
The providers above operate in several countries, so your details may be processed outside the country where you live, including outside the Philippines. Where this happens, we rely on providers that apply their own data protection commitments to the data they handle for us.
6. The self-audit tool
The self-audit on this site runs in your browser. What you type into it stays on your device and is not sent to us.
7. Cookies and tracking
At the time of writing, this site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. If we add them, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any working relationship that follows, and for as long as the law requires us to keep records. When they are no longer needed, or when you ask, we delete them from our email and our spreadsheet.
9. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to give you a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to stop using it, or to delete it. If you are in the Philippines, the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10173) also gives you the right to:
- be informed about how your personal data is processed;
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- object to processing, including withdrawing consent you gave earlier;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data blocked, removed or destroyed when appropriate;
- receive your data in a commonly used format where that applies;
- claim damages if you suffer harm from unlawful use of your data;
- complain to the National Privacy Commission.
To use any of these rights, reply to any email from us and say what you would like. We will act on it and confirm by email, normally within a reasonable time and in any event as the law requires. We may need to check that the request really comes from you.
10. Security
We limit access to your details to the people who need them to reply to you, and we use reputable services that encrypt data in transit. We keep secrets such as access keys out of the site’s public code. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect only what we need, and if a breach affects you we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. Children
This site is meant for businesses and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
12. Links to other sites
Pages on this site may link to websites we do not run. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies before you share anything.
13. Changes to this page
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page. The version here is the one that applies, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
14. Contact
Questions or requests about your data? Reply to any email from us and we will get back to you.
